Bromsgrove Bears Basketball Club was formed in 2010 when sisters Dawn and Carys Hall decided that there needed to be more basketball accessible to all ages and genders throughout the Bromsgrove area and beyond. The club’s aims were simple: to get more people playing basketball and to improve the overall standard of basketball players in the area. These objectives have remained true throughout the history of the club.
Bromsgrove Bears has always developed its players giving them the skills and knowledge to progress within the sport. With our experienced and dedicated coaching staff, we continue to help players at all levels of the game to attain their goals and become the best player they can be.
During the mid 2000’s the club focused on younger junior age groups within the Youth Basketball League, winning titles at under 13’s under 19’s and development Women.
In 2019 Bromsgrove Bears was re constituted and with unprecedented growth was able to field six teams ranging from under 9’s to both senior Men & Women’s, the club had a very successful season developing many new players & welcoming back players had played for the bears in the early years. The season was unfortunately cut short due to the Covid 19 pandemic with teams well placed to make the play offs as well as the women having progressed to the finals of the cup competition.
During the 2020’s the club has achieved much, winning titles and receiving many accolades for the continued development of players.
The growth of the club has been amazing and with our dedicated group of volunteer coaches and staff we are now able to field 16 teams spanning under 9’s to adults in both male and female teams. We work at all levels of the game including both local and national league teams and have now expanded to include a community session for those who love the game but do not whish to play competitive basketball.
